Last month, I had the most darling flamingo themed bachelorette with my favorite Houston friends. We did a low-key trip to New Braunfels for some quality lake time. I rented a darling vacation house with incredible views of the Texas Hill Country and my friends indulged me with really leaning into the pink flamingo theme!

New Braunfels Bachelorette Itinerary
Nothing warms my soul more than sunny weather, an excess of flamingos and coordinated sunglasses on the most rad set of humans. I’m feeling SO loved from my Texas friends who could make it! Here’s what we did in New Braunfels and Gruene for my bachelorette weekend.
Where we stayed
I’ve always wanted to visit New Braunfels and figured my bachelorette was the perfect excuse! I stayed at a Skyhouse Collection home in Canyon Lake at the beginning of lockdown last year, and had been eyeing the New Braunfels spots for another getaway. We rented the Guadalupe Azul which slept 11. It had a fabulous pool that had sun most of the day and a grill. It was the perfect location to relax and stay away from crowds.

What we did
The overall weekend was pretty chill. Everyone that came drove in from Houston. I’m definitely still trying to be cautious ahead of my wedding, especially when mask wearing isn’t a thing that’s regularly abided by in small towns in the Hill Country. We did have a great time outdoors and by the water.

- Floating the Comal River in New Braunfels with Texas Tubes
- Private chef cooked Mediterranean meal by Chef Bria
- Lingerie shower & bride games at the house
Pro Tip: To float the Comal River, you can’t bring anything that is single use container–water bottles, beer cans, plastic bags for ID, etc. are all banned. Everything must be in a reusable container, so plan ahead!! We didn’t know this rule and ended up skipping out on our floating the river plans because we didn’t want to risk a $200 ticket.
Where we ate
Each night we rotated where we got dinner and went out so we could see the different towns. Ubers were not available so we had to drive everywhere. Bars tended to close early and at random times. We breakfasted and grilled at the house several times. Highlight was having a private chef come cook a personalized Mediterranean meal at the house!

The Final Flamingle Party
Okay so I’ve been long obsessed with flamingos since I was a wee-child. My middle school friends (some of whom joined on the bachelorette!) can attest that I had a stuffed animal flamingo collection and was regularly gifted things like flamingle ornaments and key chains throughout the years. It was the PERFECT theme for the bachelorette weekend in New Braunfels and so many puns to be had — final flamingle, let’s get flocked up, I’m getting flocking married, etc.
Flamingo Decorations
My MOH planned all the decorations and details for the weekend which included packs for favors for each of the ladies with flamingo whiteclaw koozies, flamingo flash tats, personalized flamingo tumblers, etc. We also had a theme for each day and everyone color coordinated which made the pictures come out so well. 10/10 recommend being super extra when it comes to a flamingo themed bachelorette. I didn’t really want to wear white all weekend, so I had several days where my friends wore white and I wore pink!

Bachelorette Packing List
Here’s what everyone packed for the weekend:
- Black dress
- White dress with cowboy boots and denim jacket
- Denim shorts, white T-shirt-Pink bathing suit
- Black bathing suit
When we went out to Gruene Hall for country music, everyone got a cowboy hat. When we did the boat on Canyon Lake, everyone got white heart sunglasses (my one request for the weekend!), and then for the pool days everyone got hot pink hats.

Weeks later, I am still obsessed with the pink flamingo theme and so happy with how everything turned out. I love that I was able to do something in person before my wedding –having skipped many of the bridal “milestones” like showers, engagement parties, etc. I would have loved to have had my out-of-state friends join, but was so grateful to have had to great crew of friends with me this weekend.
I’m just a few days out from the wedding day as I write this and am feeling so supported!
