Y’ALL I DID A THING! Welcome to the new home of all things Anastasia. If we haven’t met before…hello! I’m Anastasia Clare Hansen. I’m a frequent flier (pre-COVID), avid athlete, art lover, vegan food junkie, wellness warrior and proud Houstonian!
I’ve launched this blog to be a digital scrapbook that documents all the wonderful milestones, travels, and adventures in my life. (But seriously, I foresee myself being that crazy grandma one day showing my grandkids my “WordPress” and all the crazy escapades of my youth.) I have SO many exciting things in my life that I want to capture. This blog is a unique space that will evolve with me and my expanding passions and interests!
I can’t wait to try some new things and stretch my creativity. I want to inspire readers to live a fulfilling life and travel to unknown places. I hope you find this space to be informative to help you plan your next trip, find your next favorite book, or redesign your house (yes, I think home renos might be in my future!!).
Why now?
You may not know this, but I’ve got quite the blogging history. I first started my blogging adventures a decade ago in 2009 on the journalism team at St. Agnes Academy. I launched my first travel blog in earnest when I studied abroad in Santiago, Chile in 2012. It’s Not Hou It’s Me, where many of you might know me from, began in 2014.
I’ve been noodling on the idea of creating a new blog for a while. Last summer, I moved to Paris and began to organically grow my @anastasiachansen Instagram account from my emphasis on travel. I created many travel series for It’s Not Hou It’s Me, but knew in my heart that it wasn’t the right place to house that content. (The blog literally has Houston in its name!)
With the disruption of the world due to COVID-19 and my inability to actually go out an explore and create relevant content for Houston, I decided that there’s not time like the present to try something new!
What about It’s Not Hou It’s Me?
It’s Not Hou has been a wonderful place to document the best happy hours, brunch spots, fitness locations, and murals in Houston. Since starting it in 2014, I found my way in the blogging industry, made wonderful connections and learned so much about the world of PR and advertising. I absolutely adore getting emails and DMs from new Houstonians who thanked me for creating a resource to help them get to know their new hometown.
So don’t worry! As long as I’m in Houston, I plan to continue to document my Houston and related Texas adventures on It’s Not Hou It’s Me. Anastasia C Hansen will let me scratch my itch to dive deeper into the travel and lifestyle industries.
